Getronics is first and foremost a service company. Do you like helping people? We care for our customers, whether they are internal or external. If you're curious about and have an ongoing desire to learn about information technology, that's another good indicator because we're an IT services company.
What's it really like to work here? The best way to answer that is to talk to our employees, especially ones in the department and location you wish to work, as such circumstances inevitably impact one's environment. A job that's primarily offsite, working at a customer location, as opposed to being based at a Getronics office, obviously means that the customer's corporate culture shapes your work environment, too.
To help you answer the question for yourself, we have interviewed employees in various areas of the company and posted their thoughts online. But here are some characteristics common of people and environments across the company:
- Committed, competent and caring: You'll find your colleagues are truly concerned about their clients' needs, and are focused on delivering results. They have the skills to deliver what's promised, and when they have a free moment, you'll often find them building more skills in a GVU course.
- Cooperative, team-oriented, friendly: Your colleagues are there to help. You quickly come to trust the members of your team. You have access to the resources you need to get the job done.
- Flexible, balanced: Telecommuting is supported where appropriate, your managers respect vacation requests, and despite those occasional higher-than-usual pressure workdays, you'll find the work/life balance is honored. And we know that a little humor can help everyone's perspective, especially on those harder workdays.
The above carry through the way we do our work and the environment in which we do it. In addition, they correspond to some of our corporate values.
